The Pre-Raphaelite women – sexually charged, unassuming, mythical – are reinvented in Helen Graham’s series We belong to you.
The Brotherhood painted women in varying positions, their roles determined by the brushstrokes – The Damsel, The Mother, The Nubile Maiden – Graham’s interpretation allows them to play an active role in their chosen part.
With fruit and symbolic imagery permeating each image, they react to the titles given them.
